Apptronik, a spinout from the Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Texas at Austin, was founded in 2016. The company focuses on developing versatile, mobile robotic systems that enhance human capabilities and productivity.

Apptronik has built a range of robots, including exoskeletons, humanoid torsos, and bipedal mobility platforms. The company’s mission is to combine advanced technology with human ingenuity to create robots working with people.

Apptronik’s Humanoid Robot

Apollo: Apollo is Apptronik’s most advanced humanoid robot, designed to work in environments created for humans. Standing at 5’8″ and weighing 160 pounds, Apollo can lift to 55 pounds and has a runtime of 4 hours with a swappable battery. Initially, Apollo will focus on tasks like picking up and moving crates, totes, and boxes in warehouses, logistics, and sortation applications. The robot is built with advanced electric linear actuators, enhancing its efficiency and reducing complexity. Apollo’s design emphasizes safety and collaboration, making it suitable for working alongside humans.
